Hi and welcome to the forum,
What modules are you running in untangle?
If you are running the attack blocker and Protocol control pls check there eventlogs
and see if there is anything funny in it.

install and start the attack blocker.
UT have a 10 k session limit so there can be a torrent user braking that.

untangle just have 10k sessions limit...? therefore i need more assistance because al the user in my network use the internet connection for the daily job and i i lease the connection in the lunch time but if UT limit the 10k sessions in a day. the total users can exceed the 10k sessions request for internet.

is another form to implement ut like my proxy server?

What kind of internet connection do you have? In my place, it's a 1.5 Mbps T1 and I have around 50 users and my UT specs are lot less than yours and it works like a charm. The only problem I have is my users using online streams which slows down the internet once in a while. If it does too much, I usually block that site. What version of UT are you using?

And 10K sessions is a lot. When you do netstat, you can see all your active sessions. Do you really think 10K sessions is not enough?

10k sessions burned at an average of 5 sessions per users limits you to 2000 users.

If your network is really that big... you need to think about something other than Untangle. At least until we get past the 64bit hump.

I don't understand how 64-bit solves the problems with the number of concurrent sessions.

    Is 10k = 32bits of connections?

    32bit supports 4GB of memory.

    64bit supports more.
To run a lot of sessions + lot of users you will need a lot of memory!
Which currently isn't possible with a 32bit O/S. Which is what untangle is running on.

Well memory will be one issue. Probably won't be the only issue. So I'm just guessing.

I'm betting his issue is torrents...
