    Default Untangle : Service Unavailable

I have been using this great software for since version 5.

But I notice that recently that my untangle service is unavailable.

When service is unavailable, all restriction like Web Filter, Firewall etc is not working.

I really have to reboot the box.

I have no idea what happen. I see the log from attack blocker or anything,
    nothing is un-usual.

I mean, is this happen only to me? or anyone here has experience the same problems?

    Thanks

    Yuan

It means you have a hardware issue. Something has caused the UVM to crash. It is also possible your configuration database was corrupted in an upgrade.

The only fix is to pave and start over, after you've verified the hardware.

    what kind of hardware issue?

I also had same problem today morning, untangle server unavailable and after rebooting it worked fine . if an update is causing the database to corrupt then how come hardware issue? please explain it to me.

this is my setup currently using it.

Internet Cable >> Untangle >> Switch , Access Point , Server >> Wireless Client (Laptops)

35 users using wireless . total access point are 3

2 users connected to desktop using local area connection.

1 server for Intranet, file sharing is connected to switch

Untangle server has total 3 NIC, The build in is disabled . so currently 2 iam using it

    1- US robotics Gigabit Ethernet
2- Intel pro 10/100/1000 MT DESKTOP Adaptor bought from ebay for 13$

Untangle is configured as router mode with DHCP enabled by default

Ip configured as 192.168.1.15 to 192.168.1.55 (DHCP)

Please recommend me a way to get rid of untangle server unavailable?

    Same problem here.
Untangle running as a router and is still passing traffic. No web interface though - log in and it just says service unavailable. Worse, I don't think any of the modules are running.
Seems to have happened since the upgrade to 7.0.1, although can't be sure.

Are there processes I can check to see if they are running and/or restart manually, without rebooting the whole box?

Trying to start /etc/init.d/untangle-vm manually gives an Exception error and the contents of /var/log/uvm/console.log is:

    Default Same Here

I am getting this from a clean install of 7.0.1...

I have replaced network cards and another clean install and get the same still.

If I do the /etc/init.d/untangle-vm restart
it does show PID missing or orphaned ... something along those lines takes a lil bit then it does successfully restart the vm and I am back to functioning again for X amount of time.

    Same here,
    Happened with different installs.
Fresh 64bit 7.0.1 in 2 different hardware servers.
Loading takes longer than usual, then client is launched and service unavailable or internal server error.

I guess no one knows a solution, I changed switch, NIC, different hardware now still the same
