    Default 7.1.0 beta2 broke

Due to having all kinds of issues with 7.0x, (see service unavailable thread) I have installed the 7.1.0 beta2 64 bit version from scratch.

    Summary:
    UID: fed2-424c-bc70-1d72
    Build: 7.1.0~svn20091118r25177release7.1-1lenny

    Java: 1.6.0_12

Has been working fine for several days, but this morning I found the web interface was working, the cpuload/network/memory counters were working but none of the modules were. The lights were green but the counters were all zero and none of the blocks were functioning.

All open source packages installed but spam and phish blocking are switched off.

/etc/init.d/untangle-vm restart seems to have got it going again.

If any logs would help, let me know which ones to post.

Yes, I realise this is a beta version...

    Certainly looks that way:

    /var/log/uvm # ls -l *crash* [root @ untangle1]

Pasting them here would be bad. Where would be best to put them and who wants them?

    The question is, why?
That is indeed the question. I figured out that much for myself.

I have a box here that is crashing for no apparent reason too... I've had it for a month and I can't pinpoint it.

Untangle support blames it on a bad hard drive, yet this drive passes every diagnostic I can throw at it. And, I swapped the drive out for a new one and the bloody thing is STILL crashing.

Those crash files don't mean much to be in terms of content. I haven't learned how to read them yet.

pod, PM me your UID and turn on remote support and I'll take a look.

(sky-knight, you can too if you want me to look at that box - is it also 64-bit?)

Nope dirk, it's the "kindt" box I have an open ticket for. This thing is beyond maddening.

the crash files are from the uvm restarting at 1 am (this is a know issue currently being fixed)
it is unrelated to your issue. (it would cause weird things to happen between 1 and 2am though)

next time it happens, send me a pm before restarting the uvm or rebooting and I'll take a look.

out of curiousity - how big is your site?
