Default What's going on right now?

There are times when I want to see what's going on at the moment and not have to wait for a report to generate. Is there any thought of adding more features so we can monitor instant activity?

Current sessions I think. There are 15 people working here and we all share the internet so how can I see what the traffic is at say 1:15 pm? I can't really get much information other than the simple data from the main rack.

Yes, just as WebFool mentioned, you can go to the event log of applications and take a look at the events. For example, if you want to see where your users are going on the web, take a look at the webfilter app and check the event log.

If you have ssh access, you can also try jnettop
to be understood, you must first understand.

in net versions it is iftop and works okay, but often shows IP's and not full URLs

the problem with application logs is the limited amount of lines it shows, with enough users you canbarely just catch what someone is doing before it is gone and changed with new data.

jnettop was put back in 7.4, so if you're current you have both tools.

There currently is NO method to do this easily. We have to install ntop on another machine and use a mirrored port on our switch to see what is happening on the firewall.

This has been a popular request for a LONG time now.

PS By checking the logs it can be done, but what if you have 6 racks and several policies. Checking logs in the racks becomes a nightmare. No global search feature is available yet as well.

If it's installed with 7.4 then how do I access it?

    Aaron Vail,

Open the terminal and run "jnettop".
Or if you have SSH enabled connect and then run "jnettop"
