8.0 did come with a new kernel, ACPI options are slightly different... so it's possible that the hi/lo stuff isn't working for you anymore.

Booting as-is means you're booting to whatever kernel it decided to pick. Make sure you're booting to the normal kernel. It will remember your selection and always boot that forever more...
Unless you upgrade and change kernels... then things get a little goofy.

cpu raw speed isn't really relevant when you go across platform and models....
a intel Pentium D 3Ghz will get eaten by a intel Core 2 Duo 2Ghz sort of thing.

Just removed my dir-655 and upgrade to router mode, so far so good. still looking for a trick to reset my reporting, I remove reports from rack and add back again, but again I have a problem with hosts tab.
As with hardware, I am completely happy with it! No problems or bottlenecks so far, only down side takes couple seconds for AV to scan downloads.

First stop Untangle-vm:
/etc/init.d/untangle-vm stop
Clear the event log, WARNING: this will delete all reporting information and reports will take a few days to return to the expected result:
psql -U postgres uvm
drop schema events cascade;
\q
Restart the untangle-vm:
/etc/init.d/untangle-vm start
