is it an artifact of lab testing, or something? I do not understand the intended impact.

it is specified so that the local-service option is disabled, because thats obviously not wanted.
it should listen to all incoming requests and rely on the input filter rules configuration.

I know its probably been asked for before, but it would also be nice to have a gui to add a "cname" in DNS settings... And under DHCP, setting a name instead of a description under Static DHCP entries would be cool as well.

Thanks for all the hard work! 12 is looking great so far, and look forward to next release.

    back to beta testing,

I have been keeping an eye on available upgrades with one laptop through NGFW on an old desktop with 512MB RAM and a failing hard drive. Obviously, the UI has been slow, until:

I pulled the upgrade today, and NGFW UI fell over. I rebooted and the UVM is not available after logging on.

Now that I can load a restore from my home box, I will continue beta testing on that box once I get images & make backups.

Just wanted to report that 1GB RAM appears to be bare minimum (with lots of swapping), and NGFW would be more comfortable with 2GB.

It really depends on what you want to run. 512MB is plenty if you don't run the hefty apps.

If you want to enable Intrusion Prevention I would run 2 gigs absolute minimum.

Another nit pick. The top of the frame where install apps, help, etc, Is way bigger in height than needed. Would be right above the screen shot above. Other than that it works great!

I beg to differ. I loaded v12.0 ISO onto a machine, restored a backup, turned off IDS and took it to the site to get things running. It did not come up while headless. I got these E-mails, though:
