Default Graphical stats for CPU, RAM, HDD, NIC

It would be really nice if there were rack components that could be added to show CPU load, memory usage, HDD free space and perhaps network activity for each NIC.

I understand these can be viewed from the console, or remotely via ssh, but it's not always convenient to walk someone through these steps.

In the meantime I monitor all of my UT boxes with PRTG (http://www.paessler.com/prtg). The free version will monitor up to 3 counters.

Some months has passed, is the feature in 5.3?

I would imagine this would be a feature that has been delayed until version 6 or shortly after. The whole swing UI (java based) will be dropped for a web based UI which you've already seen a glimpse of in alpaca. Most major changes seem to have been delayed until after this release because the UI will be much easier to code for. In the mean time have you looked at Silver Bullet's System tab under the tip of the day forum? It does a lot of what you're looking for in 5.3.

To have it like a main dashboard...without the console being logged in. A screensaver even!
