    Default Change to home license (resolved)

    Update: The issue has been resolved after working with Support. If you are having the same issue contact support via sending in a ticket. This will get them to be able to help you. They are working on a solution long term for us home users with a few devices, Dam "smart" devices!

    Very not happy about changes. Woke up this morning to my home network cutting off devices due to license changes that were not pre notified. I have a license that is valid through april and still they change my count over night killing it. Called support with no answers as they know of the change but not why the count changes. Previous home install was allowed 50 devices now it is down to 15. I have a house of teens and computers, 15 is not what i paid for!

    I just got the same today on a HomePro subscription. I've only had it for 4 days though so not sure if this is new or existing, but can confirm that HomePro does seem to have some enforcement that isn't unlimited.

    The following event occurred on the Untangle Server @ 2018-01-09 11:14:16.517

    License limit exceeded. Session not entitled:
    Session [UDP] 192.168.41.134:39805 -> 96.244.xx.xx:123

    Causal Event: SessionEvent
    {
    "entitled": false,
    "hostname": "nsm5",
    "CServerPort": 123,
    ...

    per support this morning the change was made and the new limit to home is 15. I think that changing a product on someone who has an existing license is bad business. I usually have 32 devices in my home of 4 people due to all the smart devices. There answer was to bypass the firewall for certain devices, this is not acceptable to me.

    About 40 real ones (a good bit of iot). Although depending on which devices are idle or just non-communicative, untangle reports ~20-30 active hosts at any given time.

    I called UT staff support number and the answer was 15 is now the limit, we can help you bypass the firewall for systems that do not need filtering. The support tech on the phone stated he was chatting with management and that was their answer. He was surprised by the change too.

    That has to be a mistake. They really can only make changes at renewal.
