    Default Home Use Enhancement Request

I learned of Untangle about 5 weeks ago and was so impressed that I tried to install it on a Dell PowerEdge Server running Windows Server 2003 (no AD) at my house.
Again, I was very impressed with the product so I completely dumped Windows Server 2003 and installed VMware ESXi. Untangle runs great, even with only 1GB of RAM (Yes, 1 whopping GIG). Again, impressed enough that I have ordered new RAM to max out the server.

That right there says a lot about Untangle and its awesome power.

I only have 1 complaint... the inability to block/allow sites by IP/MAC within the Web Filter. Yes Untangle has a "Quick-Pass List", but it is not temporary and it allows anyone to unblock a site without question. I'm not always at my computer and there is no way I can teach my wife how to administer Untangle.

What are the chances of releasing a version of the Policy Manager that allows the creation of say 3 or 4 racks for Home Use Only?

What are the chances of just Password Protecting the "Quick-Pass List"?

You can already exclude systems from the filtering.

Yes I know, but that COMPLETELY bypasses the entire Web Filter for that user!
I still need filtering to catch those innocuous looking sites that seem safe but throw porn in your face.

I fail to see how more racks is going to help you solve this.

I can assign a user to a rack that allows specified URLs.
Simply requiring an Admin Password for the Quick-Pass list would solve all of this.

I think password protection of the quick pass list would be great. However I think it also needs to have a different password than the admin password. This way you could give it to a supervisor/manager at a site to unblock when needed but they would not have access to the whole system. Especially because everyone knows they love to write these things on stickies stuck to the bottom of their keyboard.
