    Default Untangle slowdown traffice speed

    Hello

    I've installed :
    Build: 6.0.2~svn20090105r21174release6.0-1sarge
    on :
    AMD 1.7 GHz / 1 Gb RAM / 40 Gb HDD
    load :
    CPU : up to 70% - when all ( 7 PC's ) doing something online ...

Before installation i've download with about 80-100 kb/s
    now - i don't go much than 50-60 kb/s

I've stopped all the service, to find the guilty one, but speed remain slow.

    Is there some workaround ?

    You guys are chasing ghost.
Version 5.3 is not any different than 6.0 on the network implementation side aside from a few performance enhancements.

I'd recommend you figure out your issue..

    did you enable QoS?
do you have weird MTU settings that you need to change?
    how are you testing?

everytime browsing to http site loading is slow , i can view the loading under the browser point to the untangle server ip "192.168.200.1

Make sure that HTTP management is enabled. You can't turn this off without breaking the block pages. That will slow things down as the browser waits for timeouts.

P.S. This post is being written through a UT 6.0 server running on a P4 1.7 with 1gb of ram and 4 Intel Pro 100 interfaces. Just two days ago I downloaded the new EVE expansion at 1.7MB/Second.. Yes... you heard me... MEGABYTES per second.

Or your gig ethernet cards may be junk and failing under the load. 70% load is pretty high for a 7 computer network. Especially with that processor. It isnt fast, but its not slow either.
