    Default Untangle 6.02 -> 6.1 Upgrade *Compelte*

    I just pushed the big red button on the UT unit I run my office with. This is one of two untangle devices I run my consulting firm on.

    And, I had to come here and announce...

    The upgrade is a complete success.

    I am now running the new kernel, on a freshly upgraded installation as I post this. My VPN tunnel to my other untangle still running 6.02 is online and happy.

    I huge thank you to the Untangle crew, and the community beta testers. I know this process isn't smooth for everyone. However, as I look through the upgrade log to see what was performed... I have to admit, it's a miracle it works at all!

    The computer that was upgrade is an Athlon XP 2800+ Dual core, with 1 gb of ram. The process was started at 9:00am and completed at 10:30am.

    Great work all around... now to push the button on my second appliance..

    P.S. Someone fix my speeling on the topic please!

    I had one go out on me yesterday. I was able to login after I bypassed the internet connection to the switch, and untangle showed that it had processed 2 packets through the protocol control, and nothing else. I need to go onsite and have a look next week.

    Yeah I just pushed the button on the other unit and it seems to have gone dark. So I'm a bit nervous because I can't see the darn thing but I guess we'll find out in an hour or so if it comes back online.

    Ok the second box upgraded itself. That unit is an Athlon Thunderbird 1ghz with 1gb of ram. The thing had me worried there for awhile but after a 3 hour hiatus the unit is back online and happy with the 6.1 upgrade.

    After a week or so of testing here... I'll be brave and push out the upgrade to the 6 interface monster... =/ new kernels over there make me worry!
