    Default Data usage by day?

    Hi,

I have looked and tried customizing the reports but I just can't figure out how to simply have data usage by day on my network. Just a simple how many GB per day are all the users in my office using?

Want to determine this before implementing a backup plan for network outages.

Any help appreciated! Untangle version 12.2.1

    Thanks!

    Do the following:
#1) Upgrade to current version (v13.2.1)
#2) import & append the following report to your reports

    alternatively:
    #1) Upgrade to current version
    #2) Create the following report:
    report type = time graph
    graph style = column
    time data interval = day
    approximation = sum
    units = bytes

    data table = interface_stat_events
time data columns = sum((rx_bytes+tx_bytes)) as total

you can add a condition at the bottom to specify which interface you care about
    e.g. interface_id = 1

Thanks! I will not be able to upgrade at this point on this system. Moving soon to the Linksys Wifi Router with Untangle in the next couple of weeks. So no way to get this info currently in my version?

Just a FYI, the Linksys Router does not have disk storage so report data is less than 24 hours depending on the amount of traffic generated.

Thanks. Just trying to gauge our daily data usage for implementing a backup internet solution in case out internet goes out again which happened for 8 hours the other day. Just need an estimate of what we are using.

I may be doing something wrong, but this report does not appear to be correct.
Shortly after midnight, I downloaded two 80MB files off of YouTube.
I ran the report several times over the next half hour and it consistently said the data usage was something like 15MB.
I also ran it with a span of several days and the numbers it comes back with seem extremely low compared to what I know had been transferred on those days.

Has anyone been able to verify the accuracy of this report?

    Yes, 13.2.1

Also, I'm curious what the division by 6 is for in the formula.

    My bad.

    change the value to this:
    sum((rx_bytes+tx_bytes)) as total

    thats much simpler

    edit:
/6 was wrong, you can technically change it to "*10" which is correct mathmatically, but likely to overflow and give incorrect results.

    edit2:
wait a minute.... there is already a report for this in 13.2.
config > reports > network > data usage (by interface)
    just select the desired timeframe

    > you can technically change it to "*10"

What would be the reason for doing that?
