Could those be problems with Intel NICs? Must mean Intel is crap huh? Or maybe their experiences don't count.

Link one is a bad interface board, or an interface board with a PCI incompatibility with that particular Dell motherboard.

Link two, is another PCI limitation, but also appears to have issues regarding the Intel kernel module. Given that it is dated 2006, and Intel didn't have what I would call stable linux binaries for gigabit interfaces out until March of 2009 I'm going to blame the driver.

Link 3 is a known VMWare condition caused by using a desktop grade Intel adapter in a server situation and forcing a high traffic condition. This is a known issue, and it's commonly referred to as BAD SERVER DESIGN.

Link 4 is the known Intel driver issue with Debian Lenny, Lenny was released a month prior to Intel's repair of the defective drivers that were released January of the same year. Debian 5.0 Lenny ships with defective Intel drivers as a result.

This means that Untangle up until very recently used a defective driver. Untangle themselves have updated the module now so we can use all Intel card without issue.

I've seen all four of the issues you've linked personally, I've tested, troubleshot, and resolved them personally. I have been unable to resolve similar issues with the Realtek technology.

you are now going waaaay off topic to defend your "logic". look on these boards about this product and intels having issues..it doesn't happen..it as rare at best. sure if you look around hard enough you can find ANY nic has issues..but the realteks have a looooog littany of problems everywhere..not just UT. The fact you have to go into other vendors to find "issues" and then try to wrap it back into this thread tells me you aren't going to listen. Your numbers mean everything. That's great. I won't stake my business on realteks...let's see you do it.
