    Default Host limits

Testing Untangle for a new project. Would be replacing pfSense and an ASA.

Serving about 2500 users. Assuming they all have 3 devices so about 7500 hosts. 2 gig internet pipe.

My question is- are there any reasons not to do this on Untangle with a big enough box? Is there a point where the box will fall over no matter how much horsepower you throw at it?

We have a new server left over from a virtualization project that we want to dedicate to this:
    CPU Count:
    40
    CPU Type:
    Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2660 v2 @ 2.20GHz
    Architecture:
    amd64
    Memory:
    270987.9 MB
    Disk:
    142.22 GB

    Thanks!

It really depends more on your configuration than your throughput or your hardware.

I would ask yourself why you want to run Untangle and go from there.

There are no longer any structural or design limitations with Untangle that arbitrarily reduce it's ability to service any sized network.

It's all a function of what hardware you have, and what configuration you're trying to perform with Untangle. The only thing in your system spec that currently gives me pause is the hard disk space. 7500 devices will consume considerable drive space with all the log detail, and 140gb may not be enough storage to give you the retention you want.
