Strangely enough, the ASUS has higher specs but the Linksys serves the interface better and higher throughput.

Well I'll just have to try it out I suppose since I have one.
    Thanks.

Is the Linksys version made lighter by stripping some apps? I'm missing a few apps that I do have in my regular version. Like Spam-, Ad-, Phish Blocker and web cache.

The 2.4GHz Wifi adapter is enabled and configured but not visible on any device. The 5Ghz has the same configuration and works perfectly. is this a known problem?

Yes, all the SMTP apps and functionality should be removed.

Also web cache (no disk, waste of resources) and IPS (no memory, waste of resources)

    2.4 should work fine.

Really? how about long passphrase - it is an encryption key.
And nothing to do with the admin password.

The config for 2.4GHz is the same as 5GHz, except the name of course.
Before flashing to untangle the 2.4GHz was working and Untangle is saying it is alive, but nobody sees it!
Changing the SSID name or the WPA2 passphrase doesn't have any effect. How can I pinpoint the problem?

Maybe the SSID is not being broadcast - is there a field to hide it? I don't see one in the wiki.

On a client, can you type in the 2.4Ghz SSID as 'other networks'?
This is shown in this article: https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/2865...y-more-secure/

    There are tools that can help you see what is going on around you in the RF realm to choose less congested channels, and even sniff out hidden SSIDs;

    My favorite: inSSIDer,
But version 4 is not free.

Kismet will automatically discover the SSID when a client joins the network.

Actually, WPA uses the passphrase to seed the keys, it's not the keys themselves. :P

    Question

Can anyone give me a list of interfaces that show up on a Linksys install, with default names please?

    TIA
