    Question Weekly device hard freezes

    Hello all, and thank you for reading.

    Once a week, my Untangled box hard locks up. When this happens, traffic ceases to pass. I can't access the webUI and I can't even ping the inside interface. Upon reboot, everything works again but I'd really like to figure out what is broken and causing this behavior.

    I'm using a refurb HP Elite 8200 with an additional Intel PWLA8391GTL NIC:

    I'm running 14.2.2 and quite a few of the NG features. I didn't notice any CPU spikes, memory leaks and my HDD utilization is low.

    I do have a console connection but was unable to check that this morning after the last freeze as I needed my connectivity to connect to work.

    Any guidance on what log files to scour for information would be helpful.

    Hard locks are almost always one thing...

    Hardware issues. Hard disk, Power Supply, and RAM, something is busted.
