Default Help to understand why untangle crashes

    Hello folks

I am having an issue where untangle is crashing, for the third time now in as many weeks, boom it crashes, locally on the screen the mouse and keyboard do not work and it cannot be accessed via web, devices all loose internet and cannot even communicate with each other on lan.

I have downloaded the logs for a crash that happened around 4.25 today but I dont have a clue how to interpret them, can anyone help?

Well with so few details it's hard to guess. Use a text editor to anonymize your log. You can also try to ssh to it once it crashes.

I would guess it is hardware if I had to. Try memtest to check the memory.

Sorry I am short on details its hard to know what to see, i looked at the 'the internet is down' wiki, which assumes one can still access untangle, I cannot.

I could try SSH once it happens again, but networking in the house is hosed when it freezes so I see no reason why it would work.

its an intel atom CPU D535, 4 gigs ram. ssd for storage.

If the keyboard and mouse is not working, I would suspect a hardware issue. If you have support license, open a support ticket with the log files.

"I could try SSH once it happens again, but networking in the house is hosed when it freezes so I see no reason why it would work." Maybe because dhcp is not working. Set a static address before trying ssh.

It is possible the motherboard is going into hybernation or something. Check the bios to see if there is a setting related.

Is this a new box or has it been working for the 4 years you have been on the forum? Any other clues? Happened after an auto upgrade? After a power outage? Has a ups? Any other thing you think may be relevant.

An intermittent problem this rare will be hard to figure out even with all information.

I am not saying this is related as its the first time I have seen them.

The device I am using is around 2 months old so yes new. I have ordered another rack server second hand lets see how that goes.
