    Default Untangle 16. & Hp Dl20-G10.

Well, I went back to Untangle, just can't find any firewall on the market that I like. Been using Untangle for over 10 years now !

Picked up a Brand new Hp Dl20 Gen 10 box, with a Xeon 2224 with 16 gigs ram. At first the machine hated the m.2 slot, it ran fine had no issues but the fans would not ramp down, because not "100%" supported hp m.2 card. So I ditched the m.2 and bought a pair of 256gig sata drives ( cheap samsungs ) Installed them in Raid1 and off we go !

Id have to say, installing the AMSD driver on Debian10 was tricky but i got it working and installed & running.

So far the box is running stable & quiet, the odd Fan ramp up but its ok.

    And a Speed test !

The fan ramp up is because you use drivers that are not HP. The board doesn't understand the temp for them and for this goes nuts in fan speed. Its an old problem since gen8.

The box is silent :P If you use a m.2 drive that is not supported it ramps up :P I have installed drivers for the ilo 5.0 and the machine is running perfectly now.

Great set-up. Any suggestion on where to purchase and comments on cost would be appreciated.

I'm not familiar with the acronym "AMSD drivers."

I installed on a SuperMicro D-1541 server, 64gb ram that I had access to. Wasn't hitting above 900 and tying up a $1000 server. I'm assuming the single core performance is key. I also had the fan issue with the m2 drive

Thanks for your recommendations and guidance!

The Supermicro D-1541 box should push 1gig traffic perfectly fine, are you sure it's not something else ?

Connect known good pc to modem and do speed test ?
