    Default Network Cards replacement suggestions

So my I350-t4 has 2 bad ports on it and i have to replace it. I do not need 4 ports anymore as I am not running a complex network and just need the inbound and outbound. I am wanting to replace the NIC before the other 2 ports go bad. I have a few questions.

    1. Do I need to do a full install or can i just swap the NICs and reconfigure?
    2. What is better a I350-t2 or a i350-AM2?

These are the 2 cards I am looking at:

Most of the time you can just down the system, swap the NICs, boot up and reconfigure. Just be sure you know where your remap interfaces button is.

But there are times when this won't work, and you wind up doing a fresh install and restoring.

Thanks Sky. Any advice on which NIC would be a better solution?

No, I don't deal with non-Intel branded cards. Those are both Intel based, and the same chipset. But they aren't Intel cards themselves, so who knows... it all boils down to things we can't see from here.

I now understand what you mean. I am returning the off brand cards and have a real intel i350 on its way. Learned my lesson
