A new small ssd is much cheaper than a new box.
No idea as I don't have one. But it can't be that hard. Remove the cover screws and go from there.
Dashpupy might have a video or maybe some pictures.
Physically replacing it isn't the problem. It's getting an image or whatever of my existing drive onto the new one that I'm not sure I can do.

No it won't boot with nothing, the Untangle NGFW installation media is used to create a bootable installation USB device that does that. The process is near identical to how one installs Windows on any given bit of hardware. You do all that to the new disk in a new platform, then Untangle boots, then you configure it well enough to get your laptop / desktop into it, then you restore your backup, then you hit up Untangle.com and make sure your new install is linked to your account and move your sub to it.
This process is detailed, but not difficult.
