Default No access to webui after upgrade to 7.0

    Hi.
Found some updates to do using the Update button earlier today and decided to let it go ahead.
Dialog box reported success and there was a warning to be patient while redirecting to a new page.
The interface did load but gave continual dialog popups saying timeout.

    Restart.

After restart attempted logins to the configuration page result in the message:
    "Internal Server Error"

How can I force a new upgrade install or can anyone suggest a fix ?

I got the same problem when I tried to access my untangle box today.
I didn't remember if I enable the auto upgrade function.

Same issue here - login to WebClient is not possible anymore (throws 500 internal server error) and, additionally, Untagle adds its login url sometimes to web server urls inside the net.

From the logs it looks like the database is not up & running.

Anyone who has found the cause for this issue yet, or is there any way to revert back the update ?

Is there a java process running? Is there anything in /var/log/uvm/console.log or /var/log/uvm/wrapper.log?

    Hi rbscott.
    Thanks for your reply.

Looks like Java is running. ps shows a Java line with lots of switches.

console.log shows nothing. Apart from a few libnetcap lines after a reboot it starts: UVM startup complete and ends: UVM postInit complete

wrapper.log shows a message: Migrating from postgres 7 to postgres 8 each reboot

At the time of the upgrade wrapper.log shows a lot of CREATE TABLE, CREATE INDEX, ALTER TABLE and then Migrating from postgres 7 to postgres 8.
    Maybe it didn't complete.

Similar to the Apache log excerpt posted earlier uvm.log shows a problem with the events system:
    06 20:16:05.450 ERROR [JDBCExceptionReporter] Batch entry 0 insert into events.pl_endp (time_stamp, c_client_addr, c_client_port, c_server_addr, c_server_port, s_client_addr, s_client_port, s_server_addr, s_server_port, client_intf, policy_id, proto, server_intf, session_id, event_id) values ( was aborted. Call getNextException() to see the cause.
    06 20:16:05.451 WARN [JDBCExceptionReporter] SQL Error: 0, SQLState: 42P01
06 20:16:05.451 ERROR [JDBCExceptionReporter] ERROR: relation "events.pl_endp" does not exist

Might be time to contact support or re-install.

    Default I have same problem...

I have the same problem on two of three UT boxes. Any resolution at this point? Reinstall really not an option on one box as it six hours away!?

As far as Im related - yes, there have been messages in the log, the console crashed instantly over and over again. At this point Ive been deciding to reinstall (and to disable auto update...).

I am having the same issue but it wasn't an auto-upgrade. I did a fresh install and then restores a configuration file from 6.1 in 7.0.

no idea whats going on here.

I wouldn't reboot during the upgrade - if you rebooted during the upgrade its probably a mess and easiest to reinstall. If you can't reach the UI after pressing the button its because the upgrade is in progress and the server isn't running. A reboot during this time is very bad.

    run "ucli instances"
    try restarting apache "/etc/init.d/apache restart"

    dmorris,
My upgrade was auto so I don't think there was a restart involved. Short of the gui interface, I am at a loss. I assume you are talking about running those commands from the terminal? Let me know when you get the chance.
    Thanks
