    Default upgrade path?

Is there an inplace upgrade path from 5.3 (gasp) to the currrent 7.11 iso?

I just took over a older UT unit which has not had any upgrades in quite some time. The software shows upgrade options, I am just not sure how far it will take me.
    1. Can you upgrade directly to 7.11 or,
    2. To a 6.x version and then upgrade that to a 7.x?

Is there any order of sequence needed for if I do a manual upgrade?

Or, is the only solution a fresh install via new iso?

I have done a backup to usb and have their 5.3 iso in case any issues arise - just in case.

    thanks

There is an upgrade path, but it is a long one, I think you have to upgrade from 5.3 to 6.x then from there to 7.x. In the effort to save you time, if you can, I would just pave and install fresh, not that I have not done the upgrade path and had good success, but the time involved will be greater with the upgrade path.

The only answer I dont have is if you can do a config back up from 5.3 and install it in v7.x?

It will take you to 6.1 and then to 7.11.
You can give it a try.

some of these upgrades are HUGE and take several hours.

If not I would do a new 7.11 install and leave auto-upgrades on.
