No, DHCP is bypassed. That will show the mac address of the originating system. Anything that passes through the rack (TCP/UDP) will show the mac address of the nearest Untangle interface.

Packets passing the UVM will also have their gateway adjusted to reflect the default gateway on the Untangle server.

Sky-knight, I deleted the file after viewing it, it made no difference. UT took longer to boot, logged in looked at interfaces, all is still the same.

I assigned a static IP to the UT from my DHCP server using the real MAC address for the WAN NIC, and it also works. Although I haven't checked if QOS or Bandwidth Manager are still working.... Magical

You may one day find something interesting here. Today is not that day. Tomorrow isn't looking too good either.

I have a library... for some things I don't want to read from a glowing screen. But I don't have them holding up my desk... I have old hard drives for that!

The upstream DHCP server will show the mac address of the br.ethN interface. Which is usually the "external." But it doesn't have to be.

While I'm pretty sure, I can't guarantee that I know what I'm doing. There might be a better way to do this, and this way might actually suck. Make sure you understand the implications of what you're doing before trying to follow these directions.

It often helps troubleshooting if you have a good network map. Look here if you want my advice on how to draw one.
