    I am also experiencing this issue - Java is using almost 100% of my cpu (top shows 400% utilization on a quad core box).

    Any suggestions?

    This "issue" means that the system is busy scanning traffic.

    The solutions are:

    1.) Scan fewer sessions (by judicious use of the bypass filter)
    2.) Get a faster system

    While I'm sure everyone can agree that the system is busy, knowing "why" it's busy is often important in convincing the powers that be they need a larger box.

    Agreed - is top really the way to go here? pstree -Apn lists hundreds of processes under Java. Is this expected behavior?

    Pre-sales support was willing to connect and optimize things a bit, but I'd still feel more comfortable understanding what I'm dealing with.

    The session viewer is the best tool you've got, pull a list of sessions and take a look at what types of traffic are being processed. From there you can infer what module is loaded.
