Default CSR generation only produces a 1024 bit CSR

I'm in the middle of installing an untangle spam filter using Untangle 8.1. The initial installation seems to be ok. However when I submit the CSR to the certificate authority I'm told that it is a 1024 bit request and that they will only accept a 2048 bit CSR. I searched the wiki and found a solution but in the article it says that it only applies to 7.0 and it is fixed in all later versions of untangle.

Is there something I am doing wrong to produce the weak CSR? Can I use this fix with untangle 8.1? Is there a setting in 8.1 that will generate a 2048 bit CSR?

Essentially the apache.pem has to be recreated for 2048 bit encryption. The hotfix should work fine in version 8.1. You can always make the change manually too.

    Code:
    curl http://www.untangle.com/download/patches/7.0/update_cert | dash
    Manually see:
    http://forums.untangle.com/installat...loading-2.html

I am pretty sure the curl package is doing the same thing as the the above URL link is discussing. Both of these options require you to use the terminal to make the change.

    Thanks, that did the trick.
