Default UT 9 new install on Intel h67 chipset - sloowww to load

I just put UT 9 on an intel DH67BL motherboard with an i3 and 8G of ram and 2 Intel nics. (one PCI and one PCIe)

from a power on, it goes through the bios check, then hits a black screen says loading..... for about 20 seconds..

then finally jumps to the grey untangle loading screen to which the green bar gets almost to the end and the screen goes black.

the hard drive activity light stops and then goes hard for about 10 seconds while the screen is still black and it stays that way and all of this takes just under a minute...

Has anyone else got this running on the H67 chipset with out any issues?

During the install it said everything was great for ram and nic's.

I removed the 2 intel NIC's from the PCI and PCIe slot and the black "loading.." screen goes by much faster, but now on the green loading line it gets about mid way and sits there for a bit, but there seems to be long periods where the harddrive has no activity, then it does, then it stops...

i do have the system on AHCI and also connected another monitor to it just incase, but neither give me any display....

    Yes, using the integrated intel.

it is set to use the INT with 128mb of ram.

i guess i could try an Nvidia card see if it does the same thing.

interesting as once i hit the power button, the Grey screen with the green bar shows right away and it powers down.

looks like it does not like the Intel video once it is installd, with an NVIDIA card it runs and goes into the rest of the configuration.

problem now is this vid card takes up the only PCI slot in the system and i only have 1 PCIe card and i need 3 jacks, didnt want to have to order another card

I dont know the bios options of this motherboard, but try play with the video agp aperture size, shared memory, etcetera.
Also in the intel page of the mother find the compatibility with nix os.

thanks mate, i checked the board and it doesn't list any linux support, curious though then how does UT go through the entire install process , formating drives et cetera fine but then only when it gets to the new configuration phase, nothing is seen... would it not use that same driver...

    Hi,

With the same motherboard, I can able to install & configured but with a rider. When the system restarts you need to unplug the video cale from the system... and allow 5 minutes or so, then reconnect the cable & you can see the system. It is something to do with the display

i used the same display i have used for the other UT boxes i have and have no problems with it, i would say it is the video card since putting in a new video card it worked fine.
