Untangle XS boots to black screen

Hey all, new to the forum!

After setting up untangle successfully at my house over thanksgiving break, my father was really impressed and bought the untangle XS appliance for his small business.

I am back at Baylor, but I am going home this weekend to set it up because his attempt failed.

He claims after the initial boot he had to restart it for some reason and it booted to a black screen asking for username and password?

It sounded like it was booting with no GUI.

Does anyone know why this would occur?

The only thing I have found searching the forums is perhaps switching the monitor and trying again.

I just want to have a couple of options ready to try this weekend.

Its a timezone thing, apparently. If you change the timezone during the boot wizard it (presumably) causes x to fail to start. Thats what i'm told anyway. The unit is still working, and can be accessed by the management page from any lan computer.

I really wish I knew why this was popping up, I can't duplicate it in my lab!
