Default Unable to install Integration services on Untangle

    Hello,

I am trying to use Untangle as a guest VM with Hyper-V 2012 but the VM is unable to detect the NICs. Tried very hard to install integration services for linux or debian but no success. Please suggest.

    Thanks,
    Denor

    Hi Denor,

There are no support for hyper-v but legacy drivers should work just fine.

Pls read this thread that sky-knight posted a while back.

You're going to have to wait for 10.0 for any support for Hyper-V.

The legacy NICs to work, but are limited to 10/100 speeds. 10.0 is based on Debian squeeze, which as far as I'm aware has a built in driver for the full NICs. I haven't tested it yet to see if integration services can be actually installed. But I have tested 9.4 on Hyper-V, you cannot install the integration services because of a conflict with the way Untangle works.

So slap in legacy NICs and run it in gimp mode, or get dedicated hardware. You must be very careful when virtualizing Untangle anyway, and a mistake will mean pain for the entire network.

Is there any word on whether 10.0 supports Hyper-V? I've tried the beta and it definately doesn't work out of the box.
