    Default Issues during network setup

I am building a new untangle server using untangle lite as follows: internet -> modem -> untangle -> switch. I am having issues configuring the network. The dhcp settings remain blank and fail connectivity tests and also when I try to configure static. I am stuck on this step "configure the internet connection" how can I fix this? I want to have it act as a router now and later a bridge once I can get a router to replace it.

Is you modem have DHCP active? It does sound like the modem is not handing out an IP address to the Untangle.

I did do step 2 they were in the correct order when I got there. I'm not sure if the modem is DHCP active, it is a motorola surfboard SB6141 if it helps. I haven't changed any configurations or anything.
