Default Untangle - NTP time sync - stalling / killing GUI

    Interesting one for me

We block all UDP packets, in and out for our network at the ISP level (DDoS related stuff)

So using the NTP time sync in Untangle does not work for me.

I went into UT / SSH and edited ntp.conf and put in my local DC that handles NTP role, but the sync just stays there with "syncing time with internet" forever.

If i then try to log into the GUI to get back to the main page, it doesn't load...as if the NTP sync has stalled the GUI somehow...just pops up "the connection to the server has been reset" every min or so but never loads the GUI just a white page...

So, can i edit the ntp.conf file to point to my own internal NTP servers instead of it trying to use debian's?

And then why would syncing the time basically kill the GUI for me?

Can i remove the 2 UT NTP servers?

    ntp.PNG

    If i comment these lines?

    # If you want to listen to time broadcasts on your local subnet, de-comment the
    # next lines. Please do this only if you trust everybody on the network!
    #disable auth
    #broadcastclient
    server 74.123.28.4 iburst
    server 74.123.29.4 iburst

    [EDIT]

    Ya that removed them.

    Default

    K so now tried using

    ntpd -gq

after stopping ntpd service but says no servers found, double checking my domain, would there be any firewall rules or something I would need to create to allow UT to use my LAN NTP servers?
