    Default Licensing question

I read somewhere that untangle bypass devices when i reach my device license limit. for example if i have 500 devices license and 560 devices are active. how do i know which devices untangle is not scanning. I only see active and not active. is there anyway i can tell?

Any devices over the license will skip the paid apps until the number of devices falls into the license range. Free apps will still scan those devices over the license limit.

Unlicensed devices can be view in Hosts by adding the "Entitled Status" column.

    Question

so is it possible to delete some old devices that are no longer used? Or delete all of the devices and let it rebuild the list again?

Only active hosts, not devices, are counted so there is not need to delete devices. As in the Untangle below, I have 240 devices but only 33 active hosts. Therefore I only need a 50 license for all the sessions to be filtered.

So a up to 250 license will be needed.

Why are hosts showing up as Active when they are not? Mine is showing a laptop that is turned off and in a closet.

    Click on "Hosts"
Click on the dropdown of one of the columns and then add the "Last Access Time" and "Last Session Time" and "Last Completed TCP Session Time" columns.
Then post a screenshot and circle the host that its not clear why is considered active.

You can tell if a host is not entitled to paid functionality if entitled = false
