    Default ATT Uverse

I have a client who is using a AT&T Uverse modem in their office for internet connections. I have access to the modem but I do not see anyway to place it in bridge mode so I can add an untangled box. Do I have to place the Untangled box in bridge mode instead and place it in between the Uverse modem and the switch? If so will this still provide protection using the apps in untangled?

Sorry for the dumb question I just don't have a lot of experience with Uverse as I see it as a home device and not a business one.

    Thanks,

If I remember correctly, AT&T tier 2 support is the only ones which can place their modem into bridge mode. Otherwise, yes you can place Untangle in transparent mode (Internal bridged to External) and have the apps scan the traffic passing through it.

Thanks for the quick reply. I think I will place it in transparent mode. I haven't done that yet so it will be a good learning experience. Do you know if the instructions are online?

You can re-run the setup wizard or just reconfigure the internal interface as bridged to the external.

I feel foolish now, that was about as easy as it gets. Thanks jcoffin!
