Default OVA image for VMware default storage size

    Hi all,

Same problem with 13.2 OVA file looks like a typo when creating the OVA only 8GB instead of 80GB

What VMware server are you using? The OVA is 8G disk which expands on OVA installation to 80G . Otherwise the OVA would be too large to distribute over the Internet.

Just installed on VMware Fusion 10.1.1 using all defaults from the OVA (other than changing networking connection before bootup, but that shouldn't change provisioning).

    8GB for me (see screenshot).

btw I turned on cloud/support connection and am leaving this VM running for a bit if anyone wants to poke around. Is the machine that just connected for the first time with the UID ending in a632.

Edit: It is just a test VM that I provisioned for this purpose, so there's nothing I need on there.

Thanks for the platform and virtual environment specifications. We normally don't test the OVAs on desktop virtual applications. It might be a limitation of the application. We will test it with Fusion and see what the issue is.

I only run Fusion myself for dev testing. Was only offering up as a data point. I don’t actually have production needs with Fusion, but it might prove useful if others are having provisioning issues on supported platforms.

Hopefully carlos2195 will provide more information on their environment.

i think there is a bug in your OVA or somewhere.

I had to use gparted livecd, to remove / deplace partition, in order for untangle to see the actual drives (160Go).
because no matter what I choose, (thin or static in esxi), it wasn't working. Untangle only saw 8Go. (in the Dashboard).
But in the command line, a fdisk -l shows 80go....

when you install the OVA, actually it creates 3 partitions...
one with untangle on it (80Go)
    one with LBA (??) (1Go)
    one...not used.

    don't know why.....

and it was doing the same with the version 13.1.1 and 13.2.

So, I just used gparted and delete the two last partitions (LBA and the one not used) and deplace all the space to the untangle's partition. And it is working.
Now untangle see the whole drive.

fdisk also saw all 80GB on my Fusion install.

@doudoufr Not sure where the 160GB drives would come in. The OVA should be partitioning a fixed drive size based on its rules, which *should* be 80GB in this case, regardless of any physical drive you're installing it on.
