You might try to use the serial console?

Just to have the USB NIC not work? Honestly, I'm with JCoffin, stick a fork in it, it's done.

What install media are you trying to use? ISO on USB or IMG on USB?

That's most likely your problem, need to use the IMG on USB. ISO on External CD is also problematic due to the way USB drives enumerate.

Nobody at untangle realizes this, but having two separate install packages that are media-dependent is troublesome and probably not necessary. Basically, the ISO is hard coded to look for a disk drive (serial attached) and the IMG is hard coded to look for a USB drive. The ISO image on USB will usually plow along and get hung up somewhere along the drive detection/partitioning, but it can break down anywhere.

If an Untangle dev read this, I'd be thrilled to be able to use an ISO on a USB stick along with all my other bootable ISOs.

I use ISO to USB via Rufus on literally every Untangle I install, it works fine. I do this with literally everything, who needs to have two images for everything? I get an ISO, I store it, I use it.
