    Yeah, Untangle v15.1's default OpenVM tools should take care of the hypervisor drivers and such.

    Virtual switching is usually a better path to walk vs PCIe-Passthrough... but keep that arrow in the quiver because you might need it.

    The largest headache in the virtual networking is planning out the VLANs

    OpenVM tools are not installed best I can tell.

    root @ homeuntangle] ~ # dpkg -l |grep OpenVM
    [root @ homeuntangle] ~ #

    Proxmox is now on buster and supports the virtio stuff out of the box. Untangle seems to also. That is why if you don't go to pass threw it will be easier. Untangle does some kernel tweaking so building on untangle will become a pain on upgrades. Keep Untangle as stock as possible.
