Untangle for Windows Will not Start!!!

Can you try the following?

Stop the service. Quit the systray app.

Run this command (replace "13:28" with two minutes from the current time)
at 13:28 /interactive cmd.exeIn two minutes a window will pop up.
Anything run in this window will be run as the SYSTEM user.
then run
cd "c:\Program Files\Untangle"
.\UntangleForWindows.vmx
After that does the vmplayer start? Does it ask to agree to a license? Does it ask about any shared folders? Does it say anything?

Actually if you could record the following that would help greatly. I can deliver the video as part of the bug report to engineering!

Don't Know if this is ok here but here it comes

I'm running xp pro sp3 Spanish.

1.-Unistalled untangle, vmware.

2.-installed untangle_setup_541_r19378

3.-Created folder "c:\Program Files\untangle\shared"

4.-Copied "c:\Archivos de Programa\untangle\shared" Contents to
"c:\Program Files\untangle\shared"

5.- Ran this command (replace "13:28" with two minutes from the current time)
at 13:28 /interactive cmd.exeIn two minutes a window will pop up.

then ran
cd "c:\Program Files\Untangle"
.\UntangleForWindows.vmx

6.- After that the vmplayer started, asked to agree to a license,
shared folders "OK" Worked a While. I waited 1 hour.
Didn't say anything,
Had to start Client. but There was the rack working well.
7.- Restarted the machine and it went to the starting configuring loop.

8.- Stopped againg the tray, stopped the service, did the procedure to start with "at"
and everitihg works fine. made the play boy test "ok"

9.- How do i take away the starting configuring status???? and make it start automaticly.

I was looking at "c:\Archivos de Programa\Untangle\Shared"
and there are three files (Action, config.js,status).
status say "Starting".

In "c:\Program Files\Untangle\Shared", there are two files, (guest_address, status).
status say "Running"

It seems to me that the "inital script" is writing references to two places instead of only one, ( perhaps, languaje requirements) and when it restarts doesn't find the reference it needs to go on.

I would like to see it working correctly.

If You are Using Windows/Xp Pro, Sp3 Spanish.

you got to set before restarting after installing:

In
"C:\Documents and Settings\Network Service\Datos de Programa\VmWare\Preferences.ini

pref.mruVM0.filename = "C:\Archivos de programa\Untangle\UntangleForWindows.vmx"
pref.sharedFolder0.hostPath = "C:\Archivos de Programa\Untangle\shared"
pref.sharedFolder1.hostPath = "C:\Archivos de Programa\Untangle\shared"


In
\Archivos de Programa\untangle\UntangleforWindows.vmx

sharedFolder0.hostPath = "C:\Archivos de Programa\Untangle\shared"

That's It!.

The problem is about the language of the OS, I think, as when you make this changes then the Virtual Machine and everything else works!

I have not tried 6.0 for Windows yet, but this solution works for version 5.4.2.
