I promise mdh... you don't need it. I don't have anything but the TCP port forwarded on either of my setups that do this.

Nope not this time. But I did it the long way around. Teamviewer to my desktop then remote from my desktop to the server.

RAM isn't going to help if you have crappy interfaces in that Untangle. Are you going to answer the question?

Sorry as in what kind of nics I am using?

I know they are just cheap nics, does that make a difference in the untangle performance? One is a realtek and one is a built on MSI one.

And there is your problem... You can add ram it "may" help. But every time I try this on soft nics it blows chucks. I tossed in two Intel Pro 100's I had laying around and the thing smoothed right out. Granted my test station has 1gb of ram. If you can get more than that in there the soft nics may pickup. The things need quite a bit of ram to operate themselves... and you're putting a ram intensive app on top...

I should point out that I haven't tested PPTP on a "soft nic" configuration beyond 1gb of ram. The other station I have working and happy has 4gb of ram and is running Intel Pro 1000 interfaces.

Default any update on this one?

I've had similar problems but they turned out to be crappy Linksys routers on the other end, have you tried to VPN in from a different location?
