    Default AppleTV and Itunes issues

    **Cross Post from Networking**

Error Screen FROM THE APPLETV when trying to see a preview.

"The selected video could not be played.
    The format was not recognized."

    Actions...
Well guys I was told to add a bypass rule and that had no effect.

Turned off Virus Blocker and it works. JUST GREAT! So Now I am here trying to figure out what to do to get this to work.

    Here we go...
    Turned virus blocker back on.
    Select Virus Blocker
    Select Settings
    Select Web
    Select Advanced Settings
    UNCHECKED Disable HTTP Resume

    Previews now work.

The person was also having a problem with iTunes purchases on his mac before I made this change.

"This morning, we noticed that iTunes store, with iTunes 8.0.2 installed on a brand new MacBook Pro will not download purchased items. A normal Windows machine has no issue.

After troubleshooting (turning off the different modules in the UT box), it turned out that the Virus Blocker was blocking the downloads. Once disabled, purchased items are downloaded from the iTunes Store. Once enabled, downloads stop.

I eventually decided to enable the Virus Blocker module and uncheck Scan HTTP in the Settings and everything was fine. My conclusion is that the HTTP scanning in Virus Blocker is blocking downloads from iTunes."

The above was posted in another post as well, titled "iTunes Store with Untangle" and the author of the current post suggested both posts are merged.

Guys, don't forget... Mr Job's HATES Adobe... and therefore he refuses to allow anything Apple use flash.

Because of this the only way to stream files is to basically act like a download manager and simply use HTTP Resume features to request bits of the file out of sequence.

Enabling HTTP resume support should resolve this issue. I just went through this with the iPhone to YouTube! thing, and I've had other random download issues with the Mac's at my largest install...
