One might try a restore from a backup first. Then a factory default. If that doesnt work then an ISO will be required.

    dnickason,

If you drop to a shell and run 'apt-get update' then 'apt-get dist-upgrade' (and answer yes) you'll be able to see why the upgrade is hanging or going wrong.

if you reinstall I would do with an ISO and an external CDrom

    Default Here is the word

I ran 'apt-get update' then 'apt-get dist-upgrade' (and answered yes), here are the results:

    Reading database...dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/untangle-debconf-manager_6.0.2 svn20081203r20797 release 6.0-/sarge.all.deb(--unpack):
files list file for package 'libncurses5' is missing final newline
    Errors where encountered while processing:
    /var/cache/apt/archives/untangle-debconf-manager_6.0.2 svn20081203r20797 release 6.0
Processing was halted becasue there were too many errors.
    E:Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1).

Everything appeared to run ok, and I rebooted following those steps you gave me, but I still show to be 6.0.1 and there is a pile of upgrades/updates sitting in the upgrade queue. Any other suggestions?

Yea, And everything appears to be running and instaling. But still in the same boat. I will say however that when using the GUI, I am getting a slightly different response. Istead of running and endless download progress bar, it displays initiallizing, then states the upgrade was successful, thenredirects to the main rack. When I go back in, it still shows all of these upgrades available.
