Untangle Locks up with +3000 processes running

Hello,
We have an untangle on the site of the customer (+/- 17 users + 2 remote workers)

Alle modules enabled and connected to an ADSL router in bridge mode.

After the last powerfailure we have problems with the server.
In a Normal Untangle I see +/- 70 to 80 processes running, On this one see +3000 running with CPU use 100%, no traffic is possible

is this a known issue?
Or what can I check?

Hardware is an AMD Athlon 2000+ - 512MB RAM - 40GB DISK, witch is normally performing good enough for this network

Have you tried rebooting the UT machine?

~20 user network with 512mb of ram? I don't think so.. 512mb wasn't enough for just me. Your process spam may be the AV module, or the spam module. You'll have to get into the console and play with top, and ucli commands to see specifically what is moving around.

yeah, my first guess would be add more ram.

look at the load not the # processess. and look at swap usage.
if its swapping out - thats bad!
