Default Dedicated vs Re-Router backup compatibility

Question: Can I restore a backup taken on Re-Router to a new installation of the Dedicated UT? Both are version 6.1.

Background: My dedicated UT box failed recently. As an emergency, I loaded Re-Router on a Win XP box for temporary use. I'm now doing a fresh install of UT dedicated 6.1 on a new motherboard. In order to avoid re-entering all data, especially the SPAM whitelist, I'd like to save/restore the configuration from the re-router. Is this possible? Do I need to modify some network settings in the restored dedicated to make it compatible?

    TIA,
    Eric

If the dedicated box was a bridge installation it should work fine.

Thanks for the quick response, sky-knight.

The dedicated box is a router.

I wouldn't try it... the re-router version is effectively a bridge install. I don't know what the re-router version will do if the UVM is all of a sudden attached to two routed interfaces.

OK. Can you tell me if the SPAM filter white list is stored conveniently as one or more file(s) in some directory so I can just copy it between hosts using a flash drive?

Alternatively, can I take a portion of the backup file that has just the spam filter white list, copy it to a separate file and restore it onto the new server? If so, what portion?

It's no big deal to me to either copy or edit files on Linux.

To be honest... I haven't dissected the backup file to know...
