ctpensacola,
If you reinstall 6.01 or 6.02 it will auto upgrade to 6.1 and do a reboot.
(if you are fast you can disable auto upgrade)
What you can do is before the upgrade complets enable SSH.
This way you will be able to connect and change settings in the xorg.conf.
But your problem right now can be fix with a live CD.

same problems in 6.2
tried livecdand knoppix. neither worked. back to commercial solutions.
one thing I did get to work is this:
During boot, when the load bar disappears and goes away, unplug the monitor for about 10 seconds, then plug it back in. The display will be in 1024x768 mode and it works. If you do not unplug the monitor, the screen flashes about 3 or 4 times then drops to a shell. This is the only workaround that I have found to work.
go ahead and overpay for a commercial solution. The problem isn't untangle persay, its debian, and the hardware your trying to use. There are plenty of vendors that sell hardware that will work with untangle out of the box. Check out the wiki, were all listed there.
