Can Untangle run as a pair of hardware firewalls with a shared VIP address, so that if one Untangle server dies, the other takes over?
We are currently doing this using PFSense, but we like many of Untangle's features.

Does that mean that it isn't possible, or that it is just not supported?
Is there any plan to support this type of configuration in the future?

You would need two routers around the Untangles that could route between the two devices...
Sure you could make it work? But why? You still have a single point of failure in the router.

This could be done over a NIC-to-NIC connection and some good scripting as long as you didn't need the reports to be combined. Otherwise, it would take that and synchronizing the database... or hack things around to run the database on shared storage.
Vote here to have wireless included in Untangle.
