move untangle settings to new machine

i have UT running on an old PC , now on its last legs....
i have a new machine and am currently downloading 6.2 to install onto it.
I use UT in router mode and use DHCP with ip addresses allocated according to mac addresses.

is there a simple way (by copying a file) that i can transfer my set-up from the old machine to the new one ?

Will the built-in backup and restore functionality not work for you... I have used it to migrate to different hardware.

Backup your configuration, restore it to a fresh install, and update your interface configuration.

Does the backup save racks and policies?

The backup saves everything but the log entries in the database.

Thanks! I've built a newer bigger faster UT server and wanted to be able to migrate all the existing customization to it.
I was hoping the 64-bit build would be for Intel chips as it's got Quad Core Intel inside. Maybe I'll wait a while before commissioning it to see what else comes in the way of 64-bit support!

Backup will restore all policy settings and rules you have set to your UT box. Keep in mind those packages need to be installed prior to your restore for them to take affect on the new box. Some of the NIC configuration gets carried over too.

You need to check your hardware technology. Even Microsoft operates on AMD64. For once in history... Intel ripped of AMD technology on this one. AMD64 is the 64bit architecture that won, it is now a standard just like i386 was. Take a look at your 64bit windows installs and enjoy the amd64 directory structure.

In short, this is 64bit, period and isn't vender specific.
