I'm downloading Debian-501-amd64-netinst.iso to compare it against now... gonna prop up another VM right next to untangle.

Yeah either Untangle didn't rename the configuration files for the 64bit code when they compiled the custom kernel they use... or they didn't install a 64bit kernel.

My 64bit Debian isntall is reading all 8gb in my VM just fine. Everything in /boot clearly states -amd64, and all the stuff in /boot on the UT side all still says 686.

So at this point I see no difference between the stock 6.2 ISO and the "64bit" iso.

    Whoops.

uname -r on Debian 64 bit returns 2.6.26-2-amd64
uname -r on Untangle 64 bit returns 2.6.26-1-untangle-686

    Thanks...

I was hoping this was something silly the alternative was too embarrassing to contemplate.

    Code:
    md5sum.exe untangle_620.iso
    117d15c72dfa50c81f1f20eb3448a0be *untangle_620.iso

    md5sum.exe untangle_620_amd64.iso
    763959c533a009ed82c2bc679ede15e6 *untangle_620_amd64.iso
So I'm just curious as to what it is you did upload? The md5sums are different so it isn't the released 6.2 ISO. It is 2k larger! What is it?

    Downloaded, verified and isntalled.

    Code:
    free -m
total used free shared buffers cached
    Mem: 8010 656 7353 0 104 189
    -/+ buffers/cache: 363 7647
    Swap: 13264 0 13264
Yes ladies and gentleman... that is 8gb of ram in an Untangle install. ESXI 4.0 VM online and running. I'm firing up the open source install and going to setup some client VMs to test.

I just installed the compile tools and installed VMWare tools without incident. The instructions I put in the tip of the day forum still work other than the sed line. There is now a space between the comment character and Untangle that throws the pattern off.

    So far so Good really.

Got the OpenSource Rack installed plus the AdBlocker, no traffic yet just the modules and look at the difference.

    Code:
    free -m [root @ untangle]
total used free shared buffers cached
    Mem: 8010 1518 6491 0 34 622
    -/+ buffers/cache: 861 7148
    Swap: 13264 0 13264
Almost an extra GIG of ram just to put the modules in. And people wonder why I don't use 512mb boxes anymore...
