    Default 64-bit installer beta!

After the hard-core guys asking us for years for a 64-bit build - its finally here!
Linked below is the amd64 based installer. Obviously, it can only be installed on machines that support amd64.

In theory, this should be the same as the i386 build - its the same code as the 6.2.0 i386 build. However, we have not fully tested this build nor spent time tuning the memory parameters. As such, this is a beta build - use it at your own risk, but please report back with any issues you find (Our support staff won't be able to support you on this build - so please use this forum.)

Any feedback on stability speed and hardware compatibility would be helpful.
With 64-bit you can go above 4-gigs - how well does this work? how much memory does it use?

    Have fun!

Just downloaded (fast download 1.5mbps), am trying it out on a ESXi serve now. The install so far has went flawlessly, it is to the point I just selected to download the OpenSource package. So far so good, no errors.

I am not sure if it is a bug, or just with ESXi, but I allocated 8gb of RAM (have 10gb in the machine), but UT only reports 3gb total.

hmm.. lets wait on someone with a physical box with lots of ram. AFAIK it should work fine.

Outside of the RAM difference, so far everything else has installed looks to be working just fine.

Awesome. I'll have to give this a shot on bare metal and see what happens. Hopefully, nothing blows up.

    Well here's your first bug...

    The 64bit installer doesn't install a 64bit kernel.

    uname -r reports 2.6.26-1-untangle-686

The kernel for 64bit should be something like 2.6.26-1-untangle-amd64
