Default Untangle As A VPN Only Appliance

    Hi everyone,

I am putting together a proposal for a client that is a public tour company and will have as many as 500 tablets in the field. They will be using a software application that requires a IPSec tunnel back to the corporate office. They will be android tablets probably using builtin VPN.

I have spoken to Untangle about using m1500 for this purpose. It will not be an edge firewall as well but a VPN appliance handling 500 remote tunnels during peak season.

Can anyone share their opinion or expertise? Would the Untangle make a good dedicated VPN appliance?

One of the benefits of Untangle is the multiple configurations possible. Your configuration should have no issues.

    Using xauth or l2tp?

l2tp has major drawbacks. xauth will work much better if the clients support it.
