    Default Untangle is DEAD

I had an issue with reports not generating properly as reported here:
    http://forums.untangle.com/reports/1...-properly.html

After a restart the reporting did not change and still no data was being collected.

However, the restart also cleared the stats on all the modules and I noticed that they were not changing from all "0". Report graphs show a "flat line" - the Untangle patient is DEAD.

A couple of quick tests show that not only is the recording of data not happening but NO FILTERING is being done. Typed "www.playboy.com" and it comes right up! In addition, the sites I had listed to block were not there nor were any of the other categories that I had blocked such as social networking and sports. The settings were "out of the box" with only porn and proxy blocked and logged - and they DON'T WORK!

The worst part is that it keeps "working" or passing traffic but Untangle is NOT DOING ANYTHING other than passing ALL TRAFFIC. If it is going to fail it needs to REALLY FAIL and block all traffic.

Also just noticed that Configuration->Networking->Network tab is missing. I have the other 6 tabs but not networking. When I went to Configuration it detected "new interfaces". The only thing I can see is that it has determined the the external interface is an Intel instead of unknown.

I don't have time to wait on possible solutions. This is a production box that is leaving a client network completely unprotected. I just download the newest 6.2 ISO and burned a CD. I have already saved the past reports and am headed there to do a new install.

The problems seem to correspond to the approximate time that I installed the AdBlocker module. However, removal of AdBlocker did not restore the functionality.

It is also possible that the problems may have followed a first reboot after an automatic upgrade to 6.2 but I am not sure.

Any idea what might of happened to this box?

No bypass rules added. The only change that I made was the addition of the AdBlocker module.

You could see in the reports that at ~ 3 PM one afternoon the captured traffic went to zero and never was reported again. The Platform report was still working but not any details or filters.

    what about policy manager rules?

the reports thing is normal if you installed ad blocker without the patch.

I had created 3 additional racks and had users assigned to them. However, there were no changes made in the last week or so which is when the problem appeared.

I don't know that it helps pinpoint anything but after I did the reinstall of 6.02 I attempted to restore my saved settings. The first settings restore was about a month old. When I restored nothing was really changed on the new install - no racks added or categories checked. The second restore was saved after I had problems. When I restored those settings and restarted I got an internal server error. The solution was to reinstall again and recreate the configuration from scratch - ugh!

    Default I'm down too

I just added web blocker last week, then yesterday went in to add some rules, and found my web interface is completely dead, as well as no filtering going on. If I get time today, I'll give this one up for tech support though don't know what they can do if the web is down, other than ssh (currently local though I can get into the box for that so could open it up). Suggestions anyone to try before going the tech support route.
    thanks in advance

my problem. found out box ran out of disk space. needs a HIGH PROFILE alarm to be issued rather than enclosed in the status reports when such an event is approaching.
