I setup an A record in DNS firewall.domain.com and then I attempted to go to:
https://firewall.domain.com:8081 and it doesn't work
However when I do:
https://Ip.add.re.ss:8081 it works
firewall.domain.com resolves to the correct IP
Any ideas?

In what dns server? you talk about public domain and ip address or private?
Did you give it time to propagate?
Do other a-records or cnames from your DNS host work?
Yes, all other records work. I intentionally gave the record a TTL of 100 a day ago and that way the oldest record is 100 seconds old and switched it today.
All other a-records work. I don't have any CNAME records besides www and ftp. Even then, those point to the hosting service, the others point to their IP address block from TWC
The only reason, for IPaddressort to work, when domain.name
ort doesn't, is DNS isn't resolving the name. Or, if DNS is resolving it the IP it's returning is incorrect.
Double check your DNS entry, I'm willing to bet you transposed two numbers or something equally easy to miss.
