Default Allowing Torrents on one PC

    Hi Peeps,

Some help please... I want to allow one PC with IP say 192.23.34.56 to be able to use torrent downloads on port 23456.

It seems to be blocked as there is NO traffic coming through. I am assuming it is my Untangle box doing this.

How do I allow for this IP to be able to download torrents - there is already an allow rule for that port in the Firewall.

    Thanks for the help!!!

Did you change the firewall rule from "allow all" to "block all"? Otherwise it should not do so. Oh...You might have selected to block torrents in the web filter app...

Glad to see there R some other PTA peoples here!!!

Nope the rule just allows the specific port and I didn't block it with the web filter app....

What I did find that is working is to add the IP to the bypass rule and then it is able to download, prob is that this bypasses everything on the Untangle box and that might not be good to do. I think it something to do with the Attack blocker......

You're right about bypass rule. Not a safe way to handle that situation.

    What do you have installed?

Maybe your best bet is to shut off all you have installed, and try it. If it works, add one at a time. I would start specifically with Firewall and Web Filter.

    Misunderstood the concept
You want to let a bitorrent client to a one PC on your network?
This not work, P2P need a wide range of ports, need also to permit to connect the trackers, seeders, and so.
If is a request for one file only, use some site like rapidshare, or make your own ftp server
